These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of PrivaPDF ("the Software"), provided by EmergingAI LLC ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the Software, you agree to these Terms.
1. License Grant
PrivaPDF is offered under two tiers:
- Free Tier: Process up to 10 PDF files at no cost. This is a lifetime limit.
- Paid Tier (Lifetime): A one-time $45 purchase that unlocks unlimited PDF processing on one activated device, with lifetime updates. Your purchase email acts as your license identifier — there is no separate license key to store.
Each license is granted on a per-user, non-transferable basis and activates a single device. Transfers between devices or to a new email are handled by contacting support. You may not share your activation with others.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree to use PrivaPDF only for lawful purposes. You may not:
- Use the Software to process documents you do not have the right to access or modify
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software
- Attempt to circumvent license validation or usage limits
- Redistribute the Software or any part of it without written permission
3. Limitation of Liability
Important — Please Read Carefully:
PrivaPDF uses pattern-based detection (regular expressions and heuristics) to identify personally identifiable information (PII) in PDF documents. While we strive for accurate detection:
- We do NOT guarantee 100% detection of all PII. Some PII may be missed due to formatting, encoding, or patterns not covered by our detection rules.
- We do NOT guarantee zero false positives. Some non-PII content may be flagged for redaction.
- You MUST manually review all redactions before distributing or publishing redacted documents.
- PrivaPDF is NOT a substitute for professional legal, compliance, or privacy review.
- Redactions are permanent. Once applied, redacted content cannot be recovered. Always keep a copy of the original document.
In no event shall the authors or copyright holders be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from the use of the Software, including but not limited to damages arising from missed PII, false positives, or data loss.
4. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement. We make no warranty that the Software will meet your specific requirements or that its operation will be uninterrupted or error-free.
5. Termination
- Your license may be terminated if you violate these Terms.
- If your license is revoked or you receive a refund, you will revert to the Free Tier.
- You may stop using the Software at any time by uninstalling it.
6. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
7. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and End User License Agreement, constitute the entire agreement between you and EmergingAI LLC regarding your use of the Software.
